From Deck Dreams to Tabletop Reality: My Journey with MTGCardSmith

I remember when I first started playing Magic, I’d see these incredible decklists online, but they always seemed so out of reach. The cost of some cards was just… astronomical. I wanted to build those decks, to try those combos, but my wallet had other plans. That’s when I started looking into mtg proxy cards.

I decided to make a few proxies for a Commander deck I was working on. I needed some expensive lands and a few pricey creatures. When they arrived, I was genuinely surprised. It’s like having a playground for my deck ideas. I’ve even started testing out some vintage cards, just to get a feel for the older formats.

Look, I get it. Some people are purists and only want to play with “real” cards. But for me, it’s about having fun and enjoying the game with friends. And proxies have definitely made that easier.
