A Legio XV was founded by Gaius Julius Caesar in
53 BC. Erected in Gallia Cisalpina and trained in
Gaul by Titus Labienus. She had her first mission in the Gallic War against the Norwegian Iapods, the Cisalpinen cities, including Aquileia and Tergeste (Trieste) attacked.
