Tsaidamotherium

The generic name refers to the Qaidam Basin, the region where the holotype of the type species, T. hedini was found. The specific name "hedini" honors Dr Sven Hedin. The closest living relative of Tsaidamotherium is probably the Muskox, Ovibos moschatus.
